Modelling the character: character designs and modelling techniques

Sketches of the dragon character for CharSim. I tried a number of different styles before deciding on the one I wanted to model for the interactive demo.

Orthographic schema done. Modelling dragon from schema in Blender (using subsurface modelling).

Will require UV unwrapping and texture painting...

Zbrush (or even Blender) sculpting would be another way of modelling the character, but I like drawing schemas. Besides, the mesh would have to be converted into something simpler to animate anyway, so I may as well model an animatable mesh outright.
